After our visit to the Sanctuario di Santa Rosalia, we drove to the most beautiful overlook in Monte Pellegrino. At the top of this mountain stands a tall statue of Santa Rosalia, protecting the city of Palermo. From the overlook you can see Palermo below, and the Tyrrhenian Sea stretching out in front of you. From the amount of love graffiti found here, this spot appears to be frequented by the Palermitani young folk. This panorama is stunning and just the place you would want to hang out at with your fidanzato/a. (I learned on this visit to Italy that a fidanzato/a is the term for a serious boyfriend or girlfriend. It can also mean fiancé(e). However, a couple can be fidanzati, or, engaged, without rings or a wedding date. It is a term with broader meaning than its English translation.)
