If you're driving down Route 20 in Westfield, New York, you can't help but stop at Farmer's Daughter. It's a welcoming barn-like structure on the roadside with picnic tables out front. While they do serve up hamburgers, hotdogs, and nachos, we've only gone for the soft-serve ice cream. Their flavor of the week is always advertised on their sign, visible from the road as you drive by.
This visit, I did sample the cantaloupe soft-serve, but opted instead for the chocolate-vanilla swirl cone. We can get Dairy Queen and Baskin Robbins anytime at home -- but while we're here, we have to support the local establishments!
