shopping at conca d'oro

Okay, maybe I like oversaturating my images a little too much ...
You know the expression, "There's always room for ice cream?"  In my life, there's a similar expression, "There's always room for shopping."  And a stop at an incredible centro commerciale, or, mall, was just the way to finish our day.  I guess I failed to mention that our adventures in Sferracavallo, Mondello, (more Mondello), (even more Mondello), Monte Pellegrino, and the Sanctuario Santa Rosalia all happened in one day.  We really have our cousin Rosetta to thank for planning such a scenic itinerary for us.  Since we stayed only one week in the province of Palermo, we really saw as much as we could in that little amount of time.  There are many other places we didn't make it to, but we've put them on our list for next time.  Luckily, we did squeeze in a visit to the Conca d'Oro shopping mall on our way back to Ciminna.

The bubble skylights reminded me of play centers of my youth.
Shopping in a foreign country is always fascinating to me, because of my love of shopping in general (even if it's just window shopping), and because I'm interested in seeing what everyday life is like for locals.  At Conca d'Oro, I was intrigued by these:

Pull & Bear clothing store.  Did they mean "bull & bear"?  Like the markets?

Johnnie Walker bar, where everyone was drinking coffee.

Flat escalators.  Like the moving walkways in airports, but on an incline.

Scarpe & scarpe.  Shoes & shoes, just like DSW.  We spent quite a bit of time here.

A waiting area for husbands.

America's favorite video game store.

A hypermarket.  We didn't have time to go in, which was for the best, given my track record with the Carrefour hypermarket in France.

Coca-Cola ads on the cart corral in the parking lot.

Se sei pazzo per il calcio, porta a casa Coca-Cola!  If you're crazy for soccer, take Coke home with you!  Did Coke actually pay someone to write that copy?
