party of 2

Someone gave me the night off and not only picked out the recipe himself, but also did most of the cooking.  I got tasked with measuring spices and had to add in some other classic tagine flavors: about 1/2 teaspoon cardamom, 1 teaspoon paprika, and a few saffron threads.
Yes, this is a real-time post (don't get used to it!).  We have a little bit of time until the ball drops so I thought I'd do one last 2012 post.  We stayed in tonight and have so far celebrated the impending New Year with butternut squash, sweet potato, and carrot tagine, Little Bit of Heaven Spumante from Noble Winery, and a double feature of Before Sunrise and Before Sunset.  My husband's reaction: "Is there going to be an explosion?!  Any special effects?!"  If you've never seen these movies, let me tell you, it's like listening to two people have an hour and a half long conversation, complete with awkward pauses and glances (x 2 because we watched them back to back).  We really have our beloved Chicago Public Library to thank for having both available today to make this double feature possible.  Happy 2013!
