feudo hotel in burgio

We drove up to the Feudo Hotel late one afternoon, just to walk around the grounds.  The Feudo Hotel is probably the best hotel option in Burgio.  I can't remember seeing any other hotels in town.  It's located just outside of town in a natural reserve in the Monti Sicani mountain range.  Because of this, its grounds offer incredible views.  

We did go inside the hotel when we arrived, to make sure it was okay with the owner if we walked around.  I got the impression our cousin knew the owner, because he insisted we sit at the bar and served us complimentary fruit juice cocktails.  He then waved us over to the doors to the ballroom so we could peek inside (it was in the process of being cleaned up from a wedding a few days before -- a true example of the Italian "why rush?" mentality).  It made me remember how my husband and I briefly considered getting married in Italy, and how we dismissed the idea because it would be too hard to find a place, too expensive to travel to for our American guests, too difficult to coordinate from across the ocean, etc.  But this hotel seemed like a desirable spot for a destination wedding.  Aren't these amazing backdrops for some wedding portraits?!
